Health plan revived

State Democrats have revived a bill that would create a single-payer health care system and provide access to doctors for everyone in the state, including illegal residents. Senate Bill 810, the California Universal Health Care Act introduced earlier this month by Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, would replace President Barack Obama’s health care reform legislation with a more comprehensive system – one its advocates say would cost everyone no more than what they already pay.
