On Thursday, the California state Senate approved a health care bill that would establish a basic health plan to some people who are uninsured. Senate Bill 703, authored by Ed Hernandez, D-West Covina, provides for participants getting coverage for as little as $30 a month. The bill, which passed 25-14, goes to the Assembly next.
