Health Access says $6.4B budget cut will cost state 42,000 jobs

The $6.4 billion cut to health and human services programs in Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s proposed state budget will cost the state more than 42,000 jobs, according to a report released Friday by the consumer group Health Access.

In addition to severe job losses, California would experience an estimated $2.7 billion loss in business activity across the state, the report concludes.
