Modern Healthcare

Harvard Medical School is using a $30 million philanthropic gift to establish a new Center for Primary Care, which will focus on researching ways to improve primary care education, research and delivery systems. The center’s director will hold a new endowed chair at the Cambridge, Mass., medical school, based in the school’s departments of healthcare policy, global health and social medicine. The center will work to attract global experts for symposia and collaboration, and promote active discourse among Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals and related community-based sites, according to a news release.
