Governor signs bill to help struggling Doctors Medical Center
The Mercury News

One of the last bills signed by Gov. Jerry Brown this week aims to help the financially struggling Doctors Medical Center keep its doors open. The measure, by Sen. Loni Hancock, D-Oakland, should make it easier for the hospital to borrow money, proponents said. It would create a lien for lenders against the hospital’s parcel tax revenue, giving them assurance that their loans could not be modified and repayment lowered if the hospital files for bankruptcy.
