Fresno hospital selects new chief executive

Saint Agnes Medical Center trustees have appointed James N. Leonard president and chief executive officer to run the 436-bed hospital in north Fresno. Leonard comes from Providence St. Peter Hospital, a 390-bed not-for-profit regional teaching hospital in Olympia, Wash. He starts in Fresno on July 19. Leonard replaces Thomas Anderson, who has served as interim CEO at the hospital since mid-2008. Anderson did not apply for the job permanently.
