Federal health bosses tout health IT progress

The new year “will begin a whole new chapter in health information technology,” HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told health IT experts and federal grant recipients at the start of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s Update, a two-day meeting in Washington.

“Beyond the work done in the insurance market, there is important work to be done to move America to a 21st-century health delivery system,” Sebelius said, referring to this year’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
