F.D.A. Rejects New Diabetes Drug

Regulators have rejected a new diabetes drug, Bydureon, made by Eli Lilly & Company and Amylin Pharmaceuticals, the companies said late Tuesday. The companies said that the Food and Drug Administration had asked them to perform a study to test for possible cardiac effects from having higher than expected levels of the drug in the bloodstream. The companies said that study could delay approval for about two years.
