El Camino Hospital employees escape layoffs
The Mercury News

El Camino Hospital apparently won’t have to lay off 140 employees after all, since they agreed to change their schedules and work reduced hours. At least 119 members of the hospital’s service employees union and about 20 registered nurses will be able to keep their jobs, said hospital spokeswoman Chris Ernst. The Mountain View hospital issued 195 notices in August, warning it intended to lay off about 140 employees by the end of this month because of “a decrease in patient activity and a decline in the revenues received for services.”
