ECH board seeks to expand seats: But 40 posts targeted for elimination

As part of its overall strategy to take El Camino Hospital into the future, the board of directors June 8 approved soliciting the services of a consultant to review and rewrite committee charters.

At the same time, Chairman John Zoglin said the board is committed to adding two to four new directors to the existing five-member board. To expand, board bylaws must be restructured and adopted. The most immediate goal is to enable recruiting community members with expertise in specific areas to serve on board advisory committees. Currently, only directors may sit on committees.
