On display at UC Davis Medical Center: Latest technology to treat heart problems

The latest advancements in medical equipment for diagnosing and treating several heart ailments were demonstrated at an open house Saturday at the UC Davis Medical Center’s cardiovascular services wing.

The main attraction of the tour was the center’s Stereotaxis lab – the only one of its kind in inland Northern California. The $3 million lab includes two 1,200-pound magnets that can create a magnetic field 8 inches in diameter around a patient’s heart.
