Desert Regional Medical Center has been recognized by the American Heart Association for its aggressive programs aimed at preventing repeat hospitalizations for heart failure patients. The hospital received the association’s Get With the Guidelines-Heart Failure Gold Performance Achievement Award, which means that over a two-year period, it attained an 85 percent compliance rate for treating heart failure patients to specific levels of care developed by the association and the American College of Cardiology.
