County supervisors make cuts to patient aid, oncology at San Joaquin General Hospital
Lodi News-Sentinel

Despite protests from San Joaquin General Hospital nurses and community members, the San Joaquin Board of Supervisors voted to reduce hours in the hospital’s oncology clinic serving patients with cancer and reduce the number of people who qualify for its Medical Assistance Program.

The board also discussed closing the hospital’s neuro-trauma receiving center, but will not make a final decision until June. In total, including if the board cuts the neuro-trama center, the cuts will equal $820,165.
