County, health workers agree on contract
Sacramento Bee

The labor union representing about 550 health workers in Sacramento County has agreed to concessions that should save $1.85 million in both this fiscal year and 2011-12.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 146 agreed to defer a scheduled pay raise – as high as 7 percent for some – for two years. In exchange, workers will get as much as 30 hours of paid time off each of the two years, and the contract, which was set to expire at the end of this fiscal year, will now last until June 30, 2012.
