Consumers see increase in hospital prices

Consumer prices for hospital services rose 0.4% for the second straight month in May, continuing more modest growth after prices rose sharply the prior two months, newly released Bureau of Labor Statistics figures show. The seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for hospital services was 1.3% and 1.1% in February and March, respectively. For the 12-month period ended in May, the hospital CPI rose 8.2% compared with 6.7% a year ago.
