Consumers see hospital prices rise 0.8% in May

Consumer prices for hospital services increased 0.8% in May after a 0.7% climb the prior month, show seasonally adjusted figures released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In May 2010, the agency’s index of consumer hospital prices increased 0.5%. The hospital index climbed 6.3% during the 12-month period ended in May compared with an 8.1% increase a year ago.
