Construction on the University of California, San Francisco’s new 289-bed hospital complex is set to begin. The San Francisco Examiner reports that officials expect to break ground on the $1.5 billion project on Oct 26. The project’s executive director, Cindy Lima, says it will take four years to build the 848,000-square-foot hospital campus, which will be located in Mission Bay near downtown San Francisco. The campus will include a children’s, women’s and cancer hospital.
