CMS moves to prevent impact of doc pay cut

The CMS for the second month in a row is withholding payment on Medicare claims to prevent a 21.2% cut to physician payments from taking effect.

Doctors face this reduction on April 1 because of the Senate’s failure to act on a temporary measure to stave off the cut for another month, as well as temporarily extend federal health insurance premium subsidies under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985.
