California ranks only average for health

When you think of Vermont, do you think health? Or like me, do you think of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream? America’s Health Rankings are back. Vermont came out on top and California turned out to be only average at No. 26. The state-by-state ranking system evaluates factors including cancer deaths, obesity and vaccination rates. California does well on smoking rates (12.8 percent of the population smokes) and low infant mortality rates and occupational fatalities.
