Calif. Pacific Medical Center slams Ed Lee plan
San Francisco Chronicle

California Pacific Medical Center on Monday slammed Mayor Ed Lee’s request that the hospital cough up $108 million in community improvements to secure city approval of its expansion plan, saying it would make the rebuild “fiscally impossible.”

The hospital group says the actual cost of Lee’s 36-point proposal is $2 billion over the next 50 years, arguing that the mayor’s requests aren’t simply one-time payments but instead will require annual commitments far exceeding the city’s estimate of $108 million.
