Calif. Hospitals Oppose ‘Track Changes’ Feature for E-records

Hospitals and other health care providers across the country are scrambling to ensure that their electronic medical records systems meet meaningful use requirements in order to qualify for federal incentive dollars. Legislators in California want providers in that state to go a step further. And according to NextGov, the California Hospital Association is not happy. California State Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) introduced a bill that would require health care providers to ensure that their electronic records systems have the ability to track when changes are made and who made them.
