Broker fights back after firing for bundling health plans

Stakes in a long-simmering fight over employers who fill in the gaps of high-deductible plans — and the brokers who bundle products to make this possible — has increased with a formal complaint to the state Department of Insurance. The complaint was filed last week on behalf of Brent Anderson, a Southern California broker who was fired by Blue Shield of California last year after he sold a small employer a high-deductible plan bundled with a savings account that helps workers pay their portion of the tab.
