Breast cancer tests regain state funding

A breast cancer screening program, on hiatus since January because of funding problems, is being revived with an infusion of money from the state.

As many as 300,000 low-income women, age 40 or older, are expected to benefit over the next year from reopening of the “Every Woman Counts” program made available by the California Department of Public Health.
