Board powerless to stop Sutter from raiding Marin General’s profits, says chairman

 The chairman of the board of the not-for-profit corporation that oversees Marin General Hospital for Sutter Health says that even if it wanted to put hospital profit in a special account that would prevent Sutter Health from taking it, his board lacks the power to do so. “The financial investments and things like that have to be approved by Sutter,” said Robert Heller, board chairman of the Marin General Hospital Corp. “This is in the bylaws. We have no control. The control is in Sacramento.”
