Berwick to be sworn in next week

President Barack Obama’s controversial pick to the CMS will officially take the reins on Monday, almost four months after he was first nominated for the post, according to an administration aide.

Patient safety advocate Donald Berwick, 63, will be sworn in as CMS administrator—the first to hold that full title since 2006, when Mark McClellan left the agency. There has been a series of interim administrators since then.
