AMA survey lists dangers of Medicare cuts

The effects of the 21.2% Medicare payment cut to physicians may include reduced access to care and staff reductions, according to an American Medical Association online survey of more than 9,000 doctors. According to the survey, 17% of physicians are restricting the number of Medicare patients they see because payments are already too low and because of the ongoing threat of a reimbursement rate cut.
