AMA launches online managed-care database
Modern Healthcare

The American Medical Association, which reported last month that most states’ insurance markets are controlled by only two companies, has launched an online managed-care database that it said will “help physicians analyze and negotiate contracts with insurers and help provide relief from unfair corporate business practices.”

The AMA also crafted a model contract for its members that includes language that complies with laws in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, a news release said, and the database (available to AMA members only) will also provide updates on revisions to state laws and regulations.
