AHA weighs in on national healthcare quality strategy

The American Hospital Association says giving patients more self-determination in end-of-life planning and focusing on prevention of hospital errors should be national priorities. HHS is in the process of formulating the first-ever “national healthcare quality strategy and plan,” and is seeking public feedback like the AHA’s four-page letter. The National Priorities Partnership, convened by the National Quality Forum, is under contract with HHS to develop recommendations for the new national quality strategy.
