Advantage plan premiums to decline: Sebelius
Modern Healthcare

Expect declining premiums and increased enrollment in the Medicare Advantage program next year, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said during a teleconference to discuss the MA and prescription drug landscape for 2011. “Despite lots of predictions of gloom and doom, the Medicare Advantage program is stronger than ever before” because of the Affordable Care Act, Sebelius said. Average premiums next year are expected to be lower in 2011 than in 2010—“1% lower, in fact. And that compares with a 15% average premium increase seniors experienced just last year,” she said.
