3 O.C. hospitals fined for patient errors

Three Orange County hospitals have been fined by the state for medical errors likely to cause serious patient injury or death, including inoculating more than 1,500 newborns with Hepatitis B vaccines that might not have worked. On Friday the California Department of Public Health announced 14 fines against 12 hospitals across the state. Since the program started in 2007, the state has issued $5.3 million in fines.
