CHA-SEIU-UHW Agreement
An invitation-only conversation with C. Duane Dauner

May 26; May 27; June 1

Overview

It has been one year since our May 2014, non-initiative solution agreement averted the filing of two ballot initiatives that would have been costly to fight and would have been devastating to patients and hospitals had they passed. The cornerstones of the accord were the establishment of a $100 million joint advocacy fund to increase California’s Medi-Cal payments for hospitals to the highest allowable under federal law without relying on a hospital fee or tax by December 31, 2016, and to grant SEIU-UHW access to 30,000 non-union workers in 2017 if the Medi-Cal goal for hospitals is achieved.

Hospital CEOs are invited to join CHA President C. Duane Dauner for this confidential, candid discussion of the progress and challenges of the unprecedented agreement.  As a hospital/health system CEO, we value your advice and direction. Please feel free to invite the chair of your board of trustees to join you on this online forum.

To ensure ample time for discussion and questions, 10 online forums have been scheduled for May 26, May 27 and June 1. Each program is scheduled for 45 minutes and is limited to 30 CEOs to ensure effective, two-way dialog; please register for the date and time that is most convenient. There is no cost for the forum however registration is required to protect confidentiality.
