Webinar Reveals Maternal Suicide Risk Factors
For quality improvement & patient safety officers

The Hospital Quality Institute (HQI) will hold a webinar, Preventing Suicide in the Year Following Birth: Lessons from California, to explain the findings from a recent California study on pregnancy-associated suicides. The members-only webinar will be held from 11 a.m. to noon (PT) on Nov. 17.

The webinar will reveal important findings about key risk factors for maternal suicide, the types of symptoms and critical warning signs displayed prior to suicide, and the role of substance use as a contributing factor.

Recommendations on access to care and evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of perinatal mental health conditions will be discussed. Faculty include Elliott Main, MD, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Stanford University, Stanford Healthcare, and Nirmaljit Dhami, MD, medical director, inpatient perinatal psychiatry at El Camino Hospital.
