Webinar to Highlight Survey Process, Plans of Correction, How to Appeal Deficiencies

CHA will hold a webinar on May 21, from 10 a.m. – noon, to help hospitals learn how to manage violations of licensing laws from receipt to appeal. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to work with surveyors on site and how to respond when an immediate jeopardy violation has been issued against their facility. The webinar will also feature guidance on how to draft the Plan of Correction and documentation needed for an administrative appeal.

The manual explains important differences between state and federal surveys, provides tips on how to achieve a successful survey, and outlines tasks that must be completed after the survey. Recording of Members-Only Webinar on New CDPH Administrative Penalties
On March 21, 2014, CHA held a member’s-only webinar to help hospitals understand the new CDPH regulations regarding hospital penalties. The new penalties will apply to incidents that occur on or after April 1, 2014. At the webinar, CDPH leadership explained the new regulations, what surveyors will look for and how they will determine if a violation is subject to penalty.
