Volunteer Leadership Conference Will Explore New Service Delivery and Organization Models

The 2016 Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference is an opportunity for staff from multiple hospital disciplines — including nursing, patient experience, community benefits, advocacy, foundations, social work, emergency preparedness, population health and human resources — to learn new ways to partner with volunteers. The conference will take place Feb. 15-18 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course.

While many hospital volunteer programs still operate very successful programs using the traditional auxiliary leadership model, others are developing new or additional models to meet today’s evolving health care needs. Conference sessions will focus on new approaches to hospital volunteerism, such as volunteer leadership councils; maximizing volunteer impact, best practices and efficiencies across health care systems; current compliance, human resources and operational issues that apply to volunteers; and the new perspectives millennial (ages 18-35) volunteer leaders and interns bring to hospital volunteer administration.
