Volunteer Leadership Conference to Offer New Sessions on Consumerism, Technology
Presenters will focus on generational experiences applied to health care volunteerism

The 53rd Annual California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (CAHHS) Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference will take place Feb. 15-18, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course.

Among the many conference presenters will be two internationally known speakers in the fields of consumerism and consumer technology who will present multiple conference workshops, linking their knowledge and expertise to new roles for volunteers in health care settings.

Kit Yarrow, Ph.D., is an award-winning consumer psychologist, professor, author, consultant and speaker. Her home base is Golden Gate University in San Francisco, where she is Professor Emerita. Yarrow will present sessions on the psychology of consumers and the “millennial” generation, especially as it applies to the health care industry and volunteerism.

Brenda Rusnak is producer of the film Cyber-Seniors, a humorous and heartwarming documentary that adds to the important international conversation about the growing generation gap. Rusnak will link her experiences to the consumer digital revolution in health care and the role volunteers of all ages can play in helping consumers learn and adjust to new technologies.
