Volunteer Leadership Conference to Feature HCAHPS Workshop

A workshop on Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), led by nationally recognized expert Carrie Brady, JD, MA, will be featured at the 2014 CAHHS Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference, held Feb. 18-21 at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento.

The workshop will cover the importance of HCAHPS, how to improve HCAHPS performance priority areas and how patient-centered volunteer programs can improve the patient experience.

Brady, who will lead multiple sessions at the conference, has served on several national committees, including the National Quality Forum (NQF) Review Committee for Hospital CAHPS, the NQF Serious Reportable Events Maintenance Committee, the National CAHPS® Benchmarking Database Advisory Group and the Talking Quality Editorial Board, as well as numerous state committees. She is the author of HCAHPS Basics: A Resource Guide for Healthcare Managers and co-author of book chapters on patient-centered quality and safety and breaking down the barriers to patient-centered care. In addition, she is a contributing author, and led the development of, the Patient-Centered Care Improvement Guide, a widely used manual of practical tools and resources for providers.
