Volunteer Conference to Feature Training on ‘Hi-Touch’ Health Care

Among the breakout session offerings at the 2017 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference, to be held Feb. 20-23 in San Diego, is a presentation on the six critical skills needed for a new program from the California Health Workforce Initiative, called Hi-Touch Healthcare. The program aims to build on health care workers’ and volunteers’ technical knowledge, giving them the “soft skills” needed to deliver effective and efficient care. The breakout session will address communication competency, workplace ethics and professionalism, team building and collaboration, effective problem solving, embracing diversity, and demonstrating compassion.

Conference registration is available online. Discounted sleeping rooms are available at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina until Jan. 29. To book, call (888) 421-1442 and mention the 2017 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference, or visit
