Volunteer Administration, Retail Science Featured at Upcoming Conference

Among the variety of educational opportunities at this year’s 2015 California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference will be two tracks to improve attendees’ skills in volunteer administration and retail science. The conference, presented by the California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (CAHHS) Volunteer Services, will be held Feb. 16-19 at the Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Spa.

Victoria Heidelman, CAVS, will facilitate the Association of Hospital Volunteer Resources Professionals (AHVRP) Principles of Volunteer Resource Management track. The track’s five sessions include Ongoing Preparedness for The Joint Commission; Legal Awareness; Strategic Planning and Program Enhancements; Program Organization and Administration; and Risk Management. Mark Crafton, executive director of state and external relations for The Joint Commission, will co-facilitate The Joint Commission session, while Gail Blanchard-Saiger, vice president, labor and employment for CHA, will co-facilitate the Legal Awareness session. The track is targeted to both new and experienced staff and volunteer leaders.

Lilly Stamets, gift shop manager, UCSF Medical Center, will facilitate the CAHHS Retail Science Academy. Three sessions will focus on the power of product, people and planning. Exhibitor representatives will participate in each session’s education and share their expertise. Attendees who successfully complete all three retail sessions will receive a CAHHS Retail Science Academy certificate of completion.
