Updated Zika Virus Information Available
CHA site hosts comprehensive set of links, information

This week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response released a new comprehensive resource on Zika virus for clinicians and emergency response personnel. Titled Zika: Resources at Your Fingertips, it includes information about the virus epidemiology, symptoms, location and transmission, as well as considerations for health care providers depending on their specialty and facility type.

CHA’s Emergency Preparedness website also features a dedicated Zika virus web page, complete with links to official resources, including guidance, fact sheets, health advisories and other up-to-the-minute information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

CHA reminds hospitals and clinicians with specific questions about Zika that, in addition to using the CDPH dedicated email, they should contact their local public health official for guidance.
