Updated Minors & Health Care Law Manual Now Available

The 2017 edition of CHA’s manual on providing health care to minors is now available. With questions around who can legally give consent for treatment of a minor becoming increasingly complex, Minors & Health Care Law gets directly to the key issues and explains how to comply with state and federal laws related to consent for the treatment of infants, children and adolescents.

The manual provides guidance on the release of patient information, refusal of treatment, maternity/newborn issues, access to medical records, and special consent issues including when adolescents can consent to their own treatment, admission to psychiatric facilities, HIV testing and more.

Minors & Health Care Law is a targeted subset of CHA’s Consent Manual and includes a CD with more than 40 forms, many in Spanish. For more information or to order, visit
