Updated Design Guide for Behavioral Health Facilities Available for Download

The National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) has released the latest edition of its Design Guide for the Built Environment of Behavioral Health Facilities. Free and available for download at www.naphs.org/quality/design-guide-for-the-built-environment, the guide is intended to help those who care for patients or who are designing or renovating space in behavioral health settings. It identifies specific items and their manufacturers – everything from door levers to security glass – that are appropriate for use in behavioral health care facilities.

NAPHS advocates for behavioral health and represents provider systems committed to the delivery of responsive, accountable, and clinically effective prevention, treatment, and care for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults with mental and substance use disorders.
