Toolkit Available to Help Providers Recognize National Suicide Prevention Week

In preparation for 2017 Suicide Prevention Awareness Week, Sept. 10-16, Each Mind Matters has released a toolkit designed to assist providers in planning activities to support suicide prevention. The toolkit integrates two national suicide prevention efforts – Take 5 to Save Lives and #BeThe1To – as well as tip sheets, articles and social media posts that providers can adapt and share with their communities. This year’s program focuses on middle-aged men, who account for 19 percent of the U.S. population but 40 percent of the country’s suicides. A range of tools including a data brief, handouts and an article template support outreach to this population.
