Tomorrow’s ‘Blue and Green Day’ Shines Light on Organ Donation
National event highlights importance of organ, eye and tissue donors

Donate Life Month is underway, and tomorrow marks a national day of advocacy to promote the importance of registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor. Donate Life California, the state-authorized nonprofit organization that manages the registry, encourages the public to wear blue and green to raise awareness. Over 21,000 Californians are on the state’s organ transplant waiting list; nationwide, 22 people die each day waiting for an organ. Anyone can become a donor, regardless of age, ethnicity or medical history, and one person can save eight lives and enhance the lives of 75 others as a donor.  To learn more, visit the Donate Life website.
