For Licensing and Certification Staff, Quality and Patient Safety Staff

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Licensing and Certification Program has published a State Enforcement Actions Dashboard that allows members of the public to search for hospital administrative penalties and medical information breach administrative penalties.

The dashboard includes Immediate Jeopardy (IJ), Non-Immediate Jeopardy, and Failure to Report Adverse Event penalties for general acute care hospitals, acute psychiatric hospitals, and ambulatory surgical centers. The dashboard also includes state citations for long-term care facilities.

A user guide posted with the dashboard explains how to navigate the dashboard. Specifically, the dashboard allows for searching by penalty type, number, category, and issue date; facility type, name, ID, and license number; district office; and survey ID. It also links to CDPH’s California Health Facility Information Database (Cal Health Find), which allows the public to view provider details, compare facilities, and file a complaint electronically.

CHA recently updated its IJ Administrative Penalties web page, which lists IJ penalties. That web page is available only to CHA members.
