Šimanek Distinguished Service Award Presented to Paul Coleman

CHA’s Center for Behavioral Health presented its 2018 Šimanek Distinguished Service Award to Paul Coleman, deputy director of the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development’s Facilities Development Division, during the 13th annual Behavioral Health Care Symposium in Riverside earlier this month.

Coleman was appointed to his current position in 2009, having previously served as the deputy division chief in Southern California for more than 13 years. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to meeting the needs of the unique populations served in psychiatric hospital environments. As a licensed architect and general contractor, his ability to anticipate needs and pitfalls results in creative problem solving that benefits the patients being served.

The Šimanek Distinguished Service Award — named after its first recipient, attorney Joe Šimanek — recognizes outstanding leadership and achievements in the behavioral health setting.
