Senate Unanimously Passes IMPACT Act

The U.S. Senate last night passed the Improving Medicare Post-Acute Care Transformation Act of 2014 by unanimous consent. The bill, which passed the House Tuesday, will now advance to the President’s desk for his signature. The legislation will create a standardized assessment tool for Medicare post-acute care providers, and requires the Department of Health and Human Services and the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission to provide Congress with new models for post-acute care payments, such as using bundled or site-neutral payments.
