Restroom Signage Law Became Effective March 1

Yesterday, AB 1732 (Chapter 818, Statutes of 2016) went into effect, requiring that all single-user toilet facilities in any business, place of public accommodation or state or local government agency be 1) identified as “all-gender” toilet facilities by signage that complies with Title 24 of the California Building Standards Code and 2) designated for use by no more than one occupant at a time or for family or assisted use.
