Report Offers Tips on Enrolling People With Mental Illness in Health Care Coverage

The Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law has published its research exploring potential strategies to increase enrollment of people suffering from severe mental illnesses in Medicaid expansion plans and marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Titled Making the Connection: Meeting Requirements to Enroll People with Mental Illnesses in Healthcare Coverage, the report describes how taking steps to maximize enrollment enables individuals and states to benefit from the ACA’s health care options, and helps states comply with legal obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
