Report Examines Behavioral Health Landscape

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has released its first edition of the Behavioral Health Barometer: United States. Using data collected from SAMHSA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the report offers a look at the state of behavioral health in the nation and provides information on drug and alcohol use, depression, serious mental illness and other related topics. Using mental health and substance use indicators that can be helpful in tracking change and trends over time, the report also includes data on the use of treatment services for youth, adults and Medicare enrollees. The national report, along with state-specific reports, is available for download free on the SAMHSA website.
