QualityNet Data Submission Delayed for Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that inpatient psychiatric facilities (IPFs) will be unable to submit quality data to the QualityNet website beginning tomorrow, July 2, due to system constraints. When the system is again available and if the current Aug. 15 deadline changes, CMS will inform facilities via QualityNet and the IPF quality reporting listserv. IPFs and separately licensed, distinct-part psychiatric units in acute-care hospitals paid under the IPF prospective payment system are eligible to participate in the IPF quality reporting program. Beginning with fiscal year 2014 payments, eligible facilities must comply with all quality reporting requirements and deadlines to receive a full annual payment update.

Questions about the IPF quality reporting data submission process can be directed to CMS support contractor Telligen at (888) 961-6425 or IPF-PCHQRSupport@telligen.org.
